The Summerland Citizens Association (SCA) originally landscaped Summerland Veterans Memorial Park and has cared for it since the 1960s, helping maintain its role as a valued community space.

The Summerland Community Foundation (SCF) has supported ongoing improvements, including funding for tree lighting, trimming to ensure safe passage, and the removal of trash and weeds.

This work has been guided in part by the longstanding volunteer efforts of Sonya Harris, whose dedication to caring for the park has been invaluable. SCF has contributed financial support to assist her ongoing work and cleanup efforts.

The underlying land is owned by the Carpinteria–Summerland Fire District and Caltrans, and we are grateful for their longstanding support in allowing the community to enjoy this park for more than 60 years.

These combined efforts help preserve a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained park for the community.
